CTEC Shack opened their doors in May of 2022 after a complete overhaul of the building. CTEC Shack is the retail location for the professional services business, CTEC Data Solutions LLC. Both companies are owned and operated by local Boone County resident, Curt Miller. Curt is an active member of the Illinois Army National Guard, loving husband and proud father of 4 kids.
The idea for CTEC Shack arose due to lack of resources in town for telecommunications and HDTV antenna equipment. The store has been able to fill that void and offers a multitude of items for individuals to DIY or request installation of the products sold. Curtis is also a local author of soon to be 3 published works and has dedicated an entire section of the store to selling books written by local authors.
Every time you choose to call a local owner-operated business rather than a chain store, you are siding with hard working local people like us who have put their names and their entire careers into creating a business that serves customers well. This in turn keeps prices low and keeps money in our local community. CTEC Shack is a proud member of the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce. Our business’ tax contributions support Belvidere and Boone County. We are also fortunate enough to make charitable contributions to local sports organizations like BYB, KRL, and CYFL.
